In addition to being an enjoyable, outdoor, life-time, recreational activity, the game of golf has a reputation for being incredibly frustrating. It is a game that is relatively easy to learn, but impossible to perfect. As President Woodrow Wilson said, "Golf is a game in which one endeavors to control a ball with implements ill adapted for the purpose."

Where can you get professional advice, find the best equipment and locate the finest golf courses around the world. Here at GolfFolks.com, of course. By vigilantly scouring the Internet, we uncovered thousands of articles, discovered countless tips and pieces of advice and found a wealth of information and resources pertaining to the golfing world. From the best equipment to the most affordable green fees, this site has it all!

Golf is truly a game of precision, skill, control and power. More than any other sport, proper techniques are absolutely essential in order succeed and enjoy this challenging, rewarding sport. Golf technique requires players to practice aspects of stance, grip and swing. The way you stand up to the ball is half the battle. Your stance should be comfortable and you must squarely face the ball or your shot will go astray. Your knees should be flexed a little and your hands should be directly over the ball while using the proper grip.

What about that grip? It should feel comfortable as well. For right handers, your left hand should be above your right. There are many different grips you can experiment with until you find one that is right for you. There is no "one-size-fits-all" solution when you are playing golf.

Once you've set up, comes the swing. Golf swings are as unique and individual as the people who use them. Everyone has their own style and form, just as each golfer has their own personal grip. Back swings are a crucial part of good golf shots. The backswing can be compared to the coiling of a spring. It creates immense amounts of energy that will send the ball flying.

Your backswing should be smooth and begin straight behind the ball. Your club needs to travel backwards from the ball in a straight line for a few inches before it begins to come up. For right handers, use your left arm as a guide. Allow your wrists to cock naturally and let your lower body lean during the downstroke. Your movement should be a smooth, fluid motion, not choppy or rushed, but not too slow either. This will transition into a solid down swing and proper contact position, resulting in a great shot, no matter the distance or the club you are using.

The interesting thing about golf is the simple fact that no matter how much you play or practice, there is always something new to learn. Don't strive for perfection--instead, enjoy your day on the course. As golfing great Jimmy Demarat once observed, "Golf and sex are about the only things you can enjoy without being good at."

Whether you are a beginning golfer, an experienced "duffer," or a touring pro this site has something for you. You can find tips, equipment, lessons, courses, tour information, magazines, accessories, clothing and everything dealing with golf at this all-inclusive site.

Please take a few minutes, browse our site, and find the information, resources and advice you need to better enjoy the wonderful game of golf. Take a "mulligan," be sure to yell "Fore," and have a great round!
